2013 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Estournelles Saint-Jacques"

2013 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Estournelles Saint-Jacques"

Wine Enthusiast 94pts: "This wine is dark and dense, very closed at this young stage. But wait for that rich fruit to burst out to give its intense acidity and ripeness to the wine. It's a powerhouse of flavors, spice and dark minerality. Drink from 2022."

IWC 92-94pts: "Bright, dark red. Soil-driven aromas of framboise, menthol, coffee and mint. Plush, full and sweet but given shape by harmonious sappy acidity; this tastes like another vintage! The tangy red fruit flavors are not yet particularly complex but the wine's stony energy and grip and its substantial ripe tannins and superb length suggest that it will age beautifully. Leaves behind a sweet flavor of maraschino cherry."

James Suckling 92pts: "Wonderful strawberry, lemon peal and rose character. Very perfumed and tangy. Full to medium body, bright acidity and a firm tannin feel. So pretty. Only about four barrels made. Better in 2017."
