Winemaker Notes: "Fresh and enchanting, this stainless-steel fermented and aged Viognier has a mix of floral, citrus, and apricot aromas on the nose. In these colder months this wine pairs exceptionally well with cheese fondue or savory bread pudding. This vintage of Viognier continues to feature fruit drawn from two excellent vineyards: Elephant Mountain vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA and XL vineyard in the Walla Walla AVA.Elephant Mountain Vineyard is located in the Rattlesnake Hills appellation in the Yakima Valley of eastern Washington. Fruit from Elephant Mountain makes up half of the blend, with the other half coming from John and Martina Rempel's XL vineyard, which is situated out on Dry Creek road west of our winery in Milton-Freewater, OR within the Walla Walla Valley AVA. Elephant Mountain is a cooler site and provides the fresh acidic backbone of this wine, while the hotter XL site provides a little more of the fleshy fruit."
