Robert Parker 94pts: "These new releases from the Pisoni Family are up near the top of the vintage. Note, the Lucia label is used for any wine that isn't labeled as a Pisoni Vineyard. This is slightly confusing, as the Susan's Hill comes from a small block in the Pisoni Vineyard, nevertheless, the wines are stunning in just about every vintage... A smoking effort that will give a number of more expensive Burgundies a run for their money, the 2012 Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands is loaded with mineral-drenched white flowers, citrus, lychee nut and brioche-like aromas and flavors. Aged 11 months in 35% new French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it flows onto the palate with an elegant, taut and focused feel that carries solid concentration and acidity. Enjoy this knockout Chardonnay over the coming 4-6 years."
